Today was a relaxing Saturday with not too much going on. Luulia, as you know, was in Turku and my host mother and host sister were out at sports competitions (golf and baseball). That means that it was just my host father (Kalle) and I the whole day. We enjoyed a lazy morning where we basically just ate food and chatted.
At around three, we decided we's visit a community festival in the Jyväskylä City Center. This is a popular evening festival that most all Jyväskyläns go to if they can. Unfortunately, none of my friends could go and Kalle has a bad hip and cannot walk around much. Therefore, I was on my own to explore the festival. There were many music and theatre acts going on throughout the festival but, since I could not understand the program (which was in Finnish), I had trouble visiting them. In the end, I had fun though. I walked around the City Center and found a couple of shops that were very cute such as a little antique bookshop. It was amazing to see all the really old Finnish books since we don't have that many in California. I spend a lot of time just walking around and around the small shop and pulling out books that interested me.

A while later, I left the bookshop and found an amphitheatre where multiple bands were playing music. I sat down there for a while and enjoyed listening to the songs. I especially liked hearing their interpretations of American songs.
At around 7, I began to get tired and a bit cold so I decided it was time to go home. I got picked up and we went home where we ate dinner (tomato soup and naan bread), chatted for a while more, and went to bed.
